12/30/08 Update

Well today was my first post-op appointment with the doctor. Everyone has been saying that they can see, especially in my face, that I have been losing weight. But without a scale in the house we decided to wait until after this first appointment to buy one.

Well the appointment went really well. He said all my incisions (there are 6 of them) are healing quite nice and that everything was going great!

Weight:
Before the appointment Aaron said that he would guess that based on how my clothes were fitting and how I was looking - he guessed my weight at 328. Imagine the look of surprise on his face (and mine) when the scale said 227.8! Which means I've already lost 20 lbs in the 20 days since the surgery!

Diet:
Well the beans and cheese at Christmas eve were SUCH a nice flavorful change!!! Same with being able to have eggs with a little cheese as well. So far I haven't really had any cravings or issues sticking to the "plan"... but then again, I don't really every get that hungry. The only issue that really just started today was I started feeling very nauseous and even looking at food or anything with a smell upset my stomach. We asked the Dr about it and after a little talking we realized it was probably just my ol 'arch enemy' - sinus drainage.... ewwwwww But I guess it makes since that even before the surgery I would get nauseous from drainage - it would make since that with the smaller pouch an even smaller amount would do the same thing. It was an easy resolution... (kinda). I just needed to re-start taking my mucinex every morning and evening and by this evening I was feeling much better!

Exercise:
Well so far my exercise has just consisted of walking around the block. Which is fine except on a couple of days that the weather has been in the 30's and wet. So we decided that I'd just go up and down the stairs a few extra times in the house rather than risking getting sick in the cold. I am up to being able to walk at my normal pace for about 3 blocks... And for Christmas Aaron got me a Wii and the Wii Fit so that I can have something to do inside when it gets too chilly outside... now all I need is to get it set up.. lol
